Before I sign off for the holidays, I wanted to let you know about one more company I found…interestingly enough…in the reverse logistics arena – that’s doing something ‘green’: meet www.greentec.com.
Greentec specializes in the collection and recycling of e-waste items such as printer cartridges and cell phones. They collect from more than 30 countries, apparently (so says the website) – and fulfill the demands of some of the world’s largest remanufacturers with empty cartridges.
Fascinating.
Collection of cartridges happens in one of two ways: first through their supply partners, which are their primary source of used cartridges, and second, through a community based cartridge collection program they started that allows retailers, business and schools to collect used cartridges and participate this way.
Who knew.
Additionally, through their partnership with Tree Canada – which plants nearly 2 million trees each year, the company has donated apparently 13,984 seedlings, from September 2002 to May 2003, on behalf of all of their partners.
It’s amazing how much good gets done in the world. Here’s to a wonderful 2006…
Happy New Year, Happy Holidays – to one and all!
Sincerely,
Lara
