Looking Into the Future of the Hydrogen Economy

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Jon is in Washington DC for NIH review stuff, and text messaged me this a.m. the following link: http://www.iphe.net/. Ever on the lookout for topics he knows will be of interest to me, I thought this was well worth posting this a.m. on my blog. IPHE is the International Partnership for the Hydrogen Economy. Established in 2003 as an international institution to accelerate the transition to a hydrogen economy, IPHE Partners members include:

By creating the IPHE, these partner members have committed to accelerate the development of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, with a focus on improving energy security, environmental security and economic security.

The IPHE provides a mechanism by which the member partners can organize, coordinate and implement effective, efficient, and focused international research, development, demonstration and commercial utilization activities related to hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. It also provides a forum for advancing policies, and common technical codes and standards that can accelerate the cost-effective transition to a hydrogen economy; and it educates and informs stakeholders and the general public on the benefits of, and challenges to, establishing the hydrogen economy. At this site, you can see country program statements in powerpoint format; find out the meeting schedule for the forum, and learn more in general. If you want to educate yourself on the Hydrogen Economy and who’s taking steps within at least this Forum to move it forward – you need to know this organization.
