For all of you avid skiers out there…this is your database of ski area environmental programs and practices. Yes, it takes all of us to keep our favorite places clean, and green.

And just a little aside: a little about The Golden Eagle Awards…The Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence were established in 1993 by the Times Mirror Company to recognize the environmental achievements of ski areas. The awards were administered for the past ten years by Time4 Media’s Mountain Sports Media, publisher of SKI, SKIING, FREEZE, Transworld Snowboarding, and other snowsports publications. The awards will be administered by NSAA this season until a new sponsor is secured. Judges for the Golden Eagle Awards included representatives from the Trust for Public Land, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. EPA, Conservation Law Foundation, Leave No Trace, the editors of SKI and SKIING Magazines, and the National Ski Areas Association.
