Boy, talk about a walkabout. A virtual one, at that. I was perusing Levi Strauss’ website, hunting around for the news on their organic denim collection…and I ended up finding all kinds of interesting things. It even led me to this one very interesting organization which I definitely have to spend some more time looking into: the Phylmar GroupĀ®. The Phylmar Group is an organization that partners with best in class companies on their most challenging environmental, health and safety, and social responsibility issues by working in a vertically integrated way from anticipating client’s needs from strategy to implementation.
Right.
Now take a look at some of the brands they’ve been working with lately: Apple. Toyota. Levi’s.
These guys know how to take a brand and really do something unique with it, it seems to me, so I also put them in the category of being ‘brand’ designers, because quite frankly, that’s what they’re doing. When they overhaul a company’s activities around eco-considerations, they affect a company’s philosophy, the way they think - as well as they way they ‘do’. As a result, the way these companies are then able to turn around and talk to their consumers — well, yields some more interesting dialogue, and makes for very smart, forward looking companies. At least it should.
Anyway - last post for the night. Check out Phylmar.
